Powering a New Era: SolisStorage EverCore C&I Energy Storage System Debuts in the Philippines

0

On November 22, industry leaders, partner distributors, and key customers gathered at Dusit Thani, Makati, for a landmark moment in the nation’s clean energy landscape—the official Philippine launch of SolisStorage EverCore, the latest Commercial & Industrial (C&I) energy storage system from SolisStorage.

The event was graced by leaders from SolisStorage who flew in to mark this milestone. Opening the program, Lucy Lu, Deputy General Manager of SolisStorage, emphasized that great innovations are built on understanding real customer needs. “At SolisStorage, we always listen, ask questions and learn how our products work in the real world. This is why EverCore exists.” she shared. Lucy highlighted that for years, C&I energy storage solutions have been viewed as complex, difficult to install, and often unreliable. With EverCore, SolisStorage is changing that narrative—offering a system specifically engineered to be simple, smart, and dependable for large-scale applications.

A major highlight of the evening was the official unveiling of the EverCore system. Together with Bryant Hu, Country Manager of SolisStorage Philippines, and key partners and customers, the launch was met with enthusiastic applause. The Philippines is among the first global markets to introduce EverCore, reinforcing its strategic role in Southeast Asia’s rapidly expanding energy storage sector.

To provide a deeper technical overview, Mark Minoza, Head of Southeast Asia Product Solutions, delivered an engaging and comprehensive presentation. He explained that the core philosophy behind EverCore is centered on Simplicity, and detailed five standout advantages of the system:

  • Advanced 314Ah EVE cells that deliver superior performance and long-term durability
  • Patented air-cooling at the pack level for consistent, optimized thermal management
  • 15 layers of escalating protection spanning the cell, pack, and system levels
  • Zero heat transfer between inverter and cells, boosting operational stability and lifespan
  • SolisCloud integration, offering smart remote control, AI-driven optimization, and fast troubleshooting on a single intelligent platform

The EverCore series is available in 261kWh and 100/120kWh system configurations, designed to meet diverse commercial and industrial energy demands. Its arrival in the Philippines strengthens local access to reliable, future-proof energy storage—empowering businesses to reduce electricity costs, enhance solar energy utilization, and secure stable backup power during outages.

Given the high electricity prices in the commercial and industrial sectors in Manila, combined with the challenges of solar power curtailment, solutions like EverCore provide clear advantages. These advantages include instant backup power, which helps mitigate high electricity costs and provides stability during outages, enhanced energy management to optimize the use of solar power, improved power quality to address grid fluctuations, and greater resilience during emergencies such as typhoons. As the Philippines accelerates its shift toward renewable energy, EverCore helps Filipino businesses achieve greater energy independence, stability, and long-term savings, while effectively addressing power challenges and optimizing energy consumption.

With the launch of EverCore, SolisStorage reinforces its commitment to delivering innovative, practical, and user-centric energy storage solutions—helping shape a more sustainable future for the Philippines and the region.

5 Ways to  Enjoy Filipino Handaan Healthfully This Holiday

0

For many Filipinos, the holiday season isn’t complete without food. Whether it’s a family reunion, an office Christmas party or the midnight spread of Noche Buena and Media Noche, food always takes center stage. Tables overflow with lechon, pancit, buko pandan, hamon and kakanin as families gather to celebrate. Many also set aside diets to enjoy traditional favorites.
With a culture of abundance deeply rooted in tradition, health authorities[1] continue to remind Filipinos to practice moderation and choose healthier foods and drinks during the holidays to avoid post-holiday issues such as high blood pressure, indigestion and elevated blood sugar.

While it’s okay to treat yourself, Susan Bowerman, Senior Director of Worldwide Nutrition Education and Training Chair at Herbalife Dietic Advisory Board and Outer Nutrition Advisory Board, emphasizes finding balance  to avoid unnecessary weight gain and added  stress in the new year.

Bowerman shares five ways to satisfy cravings while staying healthy this holiday season:

Snacking is encouraged

Snacking, when done right, can serve several purposes. A nutritious, balanced snack keeps you energized between meals and helps control hunger, making it easier to eat less during holiday feasts.

Stressful situations during the holidays can lead to mindless snacking, so having a light snack before gatherings can help. High-protein options, such as a handful of unsalted nuts or a protein bar, are ideal, while crunchy foods like almonds, soy nuts or baby carrots can help relieve tension.

Stay hydrated

Water is essential for nutrient absorption, digestion and the removal of waste from the body. Staying well-hydrated also supports a healthy immune system.

Other fluids can contribute to your daily intake. Coffee and tea count, but be mindful of drinks high in sugar, fat or calories. If caffeine affects your sleep, limit consumption to the morning or switch to decaf or herbal tea to ensure restorative rest.

Prioritize protein and veggies

Holiday dishes can be high in calories but low in essential nutrients. One way to eat more healthfully is to include protein and vegetables in every meal while reducing refined carbs and added fats.

Protein-rich foods such as meat, poultry, eggs and legumes are filling and provide key nutrients, including B vitamins, vitamin E, iron, zinc and magnesium. Adding protein while cutting empty calories gives your body additional nutritional benefits.

To boost vegetable intake, skip starchy sides and double up on vegetables. The extra fiber helps keep you full while reducing overall calorie intake.

Be Selective with Sweets

Sweets and treats are inevitable during the holidays, but it’s important to be selective. Cravings often occur when energy dips or during stressful moments, yet many desserts are high in calories and can undermine efforts to maintain a healthy weight.

You don’t need to cut them out entirely. Limit yourself to small servings of special treats reserved for the holidays and avoid everyday sweets that are less meaningful.

Consider healthier ways to prepare desserts for your family. Cooking or baking with fruit adds natural sweetness and texture. Try broiling grapefruit or orange halves, roasting peaches or pineapple, or cooking sliced apples or plums with cinnamon or nutmeg. For an ice-cream-like treat, peel bananas, freeze them and then slice or blend for a creamy dessert.

Walk it off

Walking not only aids digestion but is also a simple way to get outdoors and give your mind a break. The holiday season offers beautiful scenery, so take time after meals to go for a stroll and enjoy your surroundings. Regular physical activity provides numerous benefits, including improved joint mobility, higher energy levels, and an overall sense of well-being.

Incorporating these habits during the holidays can help you stay healthy and energized. The longer you maintain healthy routines now, the easier it will be to continue them into the new year.

DTI launches Bagong Pilipinas MSME Hub, a national showcase advancing Filipino creativity and enterprise

0

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) formally launched the Bagong  Pilipinas MSME Hub on 4 December 2025 at the Ground Floor of the DTI Filinvest  Building in Makati City. The flagship Hub marks a major milestone in the  government’s broader strategy to strengthen the country’s MSME ecosystem  through enhanced innovation, wider market access, and deeper integration into  national value chains.

The event gathered leaders from government, industry champions, regional MSME  representatives, development partners, and supporters of Filipino enterprise— signaling the Hub’s importance as a long-term platform for promoting regional  products and building a more resilient, competitive MSME sector.

A NEW GATEWAY FOR MSMEs TO ACCESS HIGH-VALUE AND URBAN  MARKETS

For many regional MSMEs, the journey into mainstream retail has long been  hindered by high operational costs, limited networks, and barriers to entering high density commercial districts. The MSME Hub addresses these challenges by  offering entrepreneurs a premium, permanent retail space where they can  showcase products, observe real-time market behavior, and refine strategies  based on credible retail performance.

By enabling MSMEs to access Makati’s vibrant commercial ecosystem, the Hub  becomes a testing ground for product improvement, a venue for brand elevation,  and a stepping stone toward partnerships with institutional buyers and premium  retailers. This structured access is complemented by reliable reporting systems  and sales visibility—giving MSMEs clearer insights for production planning, pricing,  and supply management.

A CURATED EXPERIENCE THAT ELEVATES FILIPINO CRAFTSMANSHIP

Guests at the launch explored the Hub’s 300-square-meter space thoughtfully  designed to highlight Filipino creativity and innovation. The store features well curated sections—ranging from apparel and accessories to home décor, artworks,  Halal-certified goods, coconut innovations, and specialty food products. Every  display celebrates the craftsmanship behind the regions and communities  represented.

Lighting, textures, and visual storytelling bring each product category to life,  enabling visitors to appreciate how Filipino MSMEs have significantly leveled up  through DTI’s trade fairs, design interventions, and upskilling programs. With each  collection, the Hub demonstrates the depth of cultural identity, artistry, and  entrepreneurial excellence found across the country.

A CAFÉ EXPERIENCE THAT COMPLEMENTS THE CREATIVE RETAIL  JOURNEY

The launch also highlighted the presence of Auro Café, a homegrown Filipino  brand offering locally inspired food and beverages sourced from farming communities. The café transforms the Hub into a destination where visitors can  linger, connect, and engage more meaningfully with the stories behind the  products.

This hospitality element reinforces the Hub’s role as both a market access platform  and a community space that nurtures collaboration and conversation. TATAK PINOY, MSME DEVELOPMENT, AND THE ROAD AHEAD

Assistant Secretary Nylah Bautista shared: “The MSME Hub embodies the Tatak  Pinoy Strategy—strengthening our ability to produce, create, and innovate globally  competitive Filipino products. This space is not just a store; it is part of a larger  ecosystem that supports our MSMEs through digitalization, diversification, and  continuous mentoring. As we scale the Hub model across the regions and integrate  it with the OTOP Hub network, we ensure that more Filipino enterprises gain the  visibility, structure, and support they need to thrive in a modern economy.”

A SCALABLE MODEL FOR NATIONAL ROLLOUT

The Hub will evolve throughout the year with rotating showcases, regional  spotlights, and thematic features—ensuring wider participation of MSMEs  nationwide. The concept is designed to be replicable and scalable, enabling DTI to  bring similar market-access platforms to more regions while merging it with the  strengthened OTOP Hub implementation.

NOW OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

The DTI Bagong Pilipinas MSME Hub is now open Mondays to Fridays, 7:00 AM  to 7:00 PM. Visitors are invited to explore the space, enjoy Auro Café, and discover  exceptional products crafted by Filipino entrepreneurs. Every visit supports the  livelihoods behind these enterprises and helps strengthen an MSME sector vital to  the nation’s long-term prosperity.

PBBM Calls for Stronger National Action on Climate Resilience

0

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. reaffirmed the administration’s strong commitment to climate action in a video message delivered marking the observance of Global Warming and Climate Change Consciousness Week (CCC Week) 2025.

The President emphasized that the annual observance reflects the country’s shared aspiration to build “a climate-resilient and environmentally sound nation.” He underscored that the week-long event serves as an essential platform for policymakers, scientists, private institutions, and communities to align national priorities with global climate commitments and the broader sustainable development agenda.

President Marcos highlighted the vital role of all sectors in strengthening the country’s resilience through responsible resource use and the integration of climate intelligence in planning and decision-making.

“As Chairperson of the Climate Change Commission, I reaffirm our determination to confront the challenges of climate change with decisive action, especially now as we continue to recover from the impact of recent calamities,” the President said.

He cited ongoing government initiatives—including the National Adaptation Plan, the Nationally Determined Contribution Implementation Plan, and expanded programs in renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and climate finance—as key pillars in building a more secure and inclusive future for all Filipinos.

With this year’s CCC Week theme, Makabagong Kilusan Para sa Klima at Kinabukasan, President Marcos urged Filipinos to actively support national efforts to enhance climate resilience. He called on citizens to view climate action not only as a responsibility but also as a path toward long-term prosperity.

“As we realize our vision of a Bagong Pilipinas, let us uphold climate governance, protecting the beauty and bounty of our land while ensuring the welfare of generations to come,” he said.

Climate Change Commission Vice Chairperson and Executive Director Robert E.A. Borje thanked the President for his steadfast leadership and direction in strengthening the country’s climate agenda. “We thank President Marcos for his continued guidance and commitment. Under his administration, we will continue to advance policies and actions that safeguard our people and secure our future,” Borje said.

Under the Marcos Administration, the CCC was able to complete key transformative climate policy frameworks and submissions to the UNFCCC, including the Philippines’ first National Adaptation Plan, the Nationally Determined Contribution Implementation Plan, updated Greenhouse Gas Inventories, and the Philippines’ Biennial Transparency Report.

President Marcos concluded with a message of solidarity and hope, encouraging all participants to pursue meaningful engagement throughout the week’s activities.

Streets and Social Media Abuzz with ‘Tapat Sa’Yo’ Sticker Craze

0

Ever noticed a “Tapat Sa’yo” sticker on the vehicle ahead of you?

From highways to parking lots and even on social media, the Tapat Sa’yo sticker is everywhere – sparking curiosity and conversations among road users.

Online, some netizens have turned their interest into a fun game of seeing how many stickers they can spot on the road. Naturally, people are asking: Ano kaya ibig sabihin ng sticker na iyon?

Initially, the sticker looks nothing more than a “pick-up” line. But as more of it appeared on the road, the questions followed: Whose slogan is this? Is it political? Or a car club?

The “Tapat Sa’yo” sticker is a game-changing initiative by industry leader, Petron Corporation.

Far from being just a gimmick or conversation starter, the sticker is a token of appreciation, recognizing loyal Petron customers. What makes it even more special is that it unlocks “surprise perks” — the most notable being a ₱5-per-liter fuel discount that has delighted many drivers.

The rising presence of the “Tapat Sa’yo” sticker on the road has even led to more and more motorists fondly referring to themselves as the “Tapat Sa’yo Club.” For many motorists, seeing the sticker feels like encountering another Petron customer who also recognizes the value of a good deal.

Getting the “Tapat Sa’yo” sticker is simple. Just fuel up at participating Petron stations, present your Petron Value Card, and get your own sticker. Take note, though, that stocks run out quickly due to high demand.

Whether the ₱5-per-liter discount or additional perks will continue remains to be seen. What is certain is that the growing number of vehicles displaying the sticker reflects a positive reception and continued optimism for more rewards.

The “Tapat Sa’yo” sticker stands as a symbol of loyalty, connection, and the meaningful rewards that come with being a Petron customer.

The question is: Are you part of the Tapat Sa’yo Club?
