G FEST 2024 set to unleash Filipino Youth’s courage and passions through music and creativity BINI, SunKissed Lola, Denise Julia, other artists to perform live

Globe is gearing up to inspire the Filipino youth with G FEST 2024, an electrifying three-leg event in Manila, Iloilo, and Davao that blends music and creativity to inspire courage and unleash self-expression.

This year’s G FEST, part of the annual G Day festivities marking the iconic Globe prefix 0917, aims to build deeper connections with customers while enriching their everyday lives through curated, meaningful activities and exclusive rewards.

G FEST serves as a platform for Filipino youth to express themselves and pursue their passions, with the unique opportunity to share the stage with their idols.

“We’re excited to bring G FEST to life, giving young Filipinos space where their passions can thrive. This event is a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and courage, and we can’t wait to see how it will inspire and empower the next generation to break boundaries and pursue their dreams with confidence,” said Bianca Wong, Globe’s Vice President of the Feel Valued Tribe.

The event kicks off on September 22, 2024, at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, offering an exciting lineup of attractions and surprises. Attendees can look forward to engaging workshops, captivating musical performances, and a showcase of artist merchants curated by Patrons of the Arts.

A highlight of G FEST is its lineup of exhilarating live sets by top artists BINI, Denise Julia, Jason Dhakal, SunKissed Lola, and ASTER on the Courage Stage.

Spectators can also take part in the “Go Lang Nang Go” workshops, where they can learn lessons on performance art from industry greats. BINI Coaches Mickey Perz, Reden Blanquera, and Matthew Almodovar will lead the Dance Like BINI session, teaching fans the choreography for “Cherry On Top,” the latest hit of the nation’s girl group. Singer-songwriters Denise Julia and Jason Dhakal will join the lineup to share valuable insights on “How to Be a Pop Star.”

Globe customers are encouraged to redeem their G FEST 2024 passes through the GlobeOne app, unlocking access to all experiences and activities awaiting them.

For those unable to attend in person, G FEST Manila will be streamed live on Globe’s Facebook and YouTube pages on September 22, 2024, starting at 6 PM, ensuring everyone can join the excitement from anywhere.

G FEST will then continue its mission of inspiring the youth with additional legs scheduled on October 5, 2024, at the Iloilo Convention Center, and on November 16, 2024, at SMX Convention Center, Davao City.

Filipinos relish hard work behind Paris Olympic glory

PLDT Inc. and Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart), in collaboration with Shangri-La Plaza, exclusively screened ‘Puso in Paris 2024’ at the newly renovated Red Carpet Cinema 1 in Mandaluyong for free. Produced by Smart Sports, the four-part documentary series looks into the training and other preparations of Filipino Olympians for the recently concluded Olympic Games Paris 2024.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to give Filipinos the real behind-the-scenes look at what our national athletes go through, what their mindset is, what they feel. And to be able understand those experiences to the result afterwards is really rewarding. We’re very proud of what our Paris Olympians have done,” said Jude Turcuato, FVP and Head of Sports at PLDT and Smart, and one of the executive producers of the series. “We would like to thank again Shangri-La Plaza for hosting the special screening of our Puso in Paris 2024 with the same goal of appreciating and honoring our Filipino sports heroes”, he added.

‘Puso in Paris 2024’ features Carlos Edriel Yulo, the country’s golden boy of gymnastics who headlined the Philippine campaign in Paris with two gold medals. The series also followed Paris bronze medalists Nesthy Petecio and Aira Villegas together with fellow boxers Carlos Paalam, Eumir Marcial and Hergie Bacyadan in their training a few months before the Olympics. Weightlifters Vanessa Sarno, Elreen Ando and John Ceniza shared their stories as they build on the triumph of Hidilyn Diaz, the country’s first Olympic gold medalist. Asia’s top pole vault champion Ernest John ‘EJ’ Obiena also talked about his beginnings and his dedication to become one of the world’s elite athletes.

Jeanette Obiena, EJ Obiena’s mother, attended the screening together with EJ’s sister, Emily. She said she has witnessed her son’s perseverance to compete at the world’s biggest sports event, “With what EJ had done at the Paris Olympics, I know he had given his best and fought the good fight. I’m very, very proud of him for that.”

PLDT High Speed Hitter Kim Kianna Dy, who has donned the national colors in volleyball, was beaming with pride for our Paris Olympians after watching ‘Puso in Paris 2024’. “It’s a big honor to represent the country and it’s a dream of every athlete to be part of the national team or delegation. It’s been very inspiring to see how they prepared especially for something as big as the Olympics which is the highest level of competition. Just being a part of it, win or lose, is such a big achievement already,” she said.

The Smart Omega Empress esports team and the Smart Omega management also graced the special screening. Celebrated Filipino designer Francis Libiran, who created the ‘Sinag’ barong that Filipino Olympians wore at the opening ceremony of the Paris games, also watched ‘Puso in Paris 2024’ on the big screen.

USANA Achieves HR Asia’s “Best Companies to Work For” Title for Three Consecutive Years

USANA Philippines has once again been honored with the prestigious HR Asia Award for being one of the Best Companies to Work For in the Philippines. This marks the third consecutive year the company has received this esteemed recognition, underscoring its commitment to creating a positive and dynamic work environment.

The HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia Philippines 2024 is an annual award given by HR Asia, a leading publication in the human resources industry. The award recognizes companies with the best HR practices, high levels of employee engagement, and excellent workplace culture.

The awards night, attended by industry leaders, employees, and partners, celebrated USANA’s dedication to its workforce and celebrated the company’s ongoing efforts to cultivate a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
