Thai Rice Shines at WOFEX 2024 with “Think Rice Think Thailand” Campaign
Manila, Philippines – Thai rice is taking center stage at the World Food Expo (WOFEX) 2024, held from July 31 to August 3, 2024, at the SMX Convention Center, Manila. Under the theme “THINK RICE, THINK THAILAND: We serve the Best Quality Rice to the World,” the “Think Rice Think Thailand” booth (No. 1075, Hall 4) is showcasing the exceptional quality and flavor of Thai rice varieties.
The event underscores Thailand’s dedication to showcasing its culinary expertise and cultural richness, supported by the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) and the Department of Foreign Trade (DFT) under the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand, thru the Thai Trade Center in Manila.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the official opening of the booth, was graced by several VIPs, including (from left to right) Ms. Sutinee Vathana, Director of the Thai Trade Center in Manila, His Excellency Tull Traisorat , The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of the Philippines, Mr. Ian Roberts, Vice President-Asia, Informa Markets. The ceremony highlighted Thailand’s commitment to promoting its high-quality rice varieties in the Philippine market, strengthening the economic ties between the two nations as they celebrate the 75th anniversary of Philippines-Thailand diplomatic relations.
MS. SUTINEE VATHANA, the director of the Thai Trade Center Manila, expressed her enthusiasm during the event by stating how thrilling it is to showcase premium Thai rice at WOFEX 2024. The ‘Think Rice Think Thailand’ campaign is more than just promoting rice; it is about sharing a piece of Thai culture and heritage with Filipino friends. The participation here signifies the deep-rooted relationship between Thailand and the Philippines, and both countries look forward to fostering even stronger economic and cultural ties.
